Welcome to Brynna home of local entrepreneur and would be wedding planner Onkar Singh Purewal - shopkeeper by day but by night an events manager extraordinaire. He dreams of expanding the family business beyond the Rhondda and making it big but right now its his dad Dev who is still running the show and he's not yet ready to hand over the reins to his son. In this episode the locals give a mixed reception to a Valentine's day promotion at the family corner shop and Onkar's latest wedding booking faces disaster. In a rain soaked Caerphilly Castle, the happy couple Dave and Lowri are blissfully unaware of the chaos as the catering team turns up without cooking oil, set the freezer to fridge setting and destroy the desert. Onkar rises to the challenge but as he bickers with his father its a day to forget for the Purewall family. To make up for it Onkar decides to throw a lavish Vaisakhi party at the family hotel to celebrate the Punjabi New Year and hopefully drum up some new customers. Dad Dev will be off duty at this party so it's also a chance for Onkar to prove to his father he can handle the big events on his own. With his usual attention to detail, Onkar and his trusted team have to plan a menu and get things ready for the party. Onkar hopes his dad Dev will use his contacts within the Sikh community to sell all the tickets but trying to get a straight answer on how many he's actually sold is not easy. When it comes to the big day, way more guests turn up than Onkar's expecting - putting severe pressure on the portion sizes and causing havoc when it comes to seating them at tables. Eventually 50 or so extra guests are fed, watered and have somewhere to sit … and Onkar's pulled off a party like no other. Even Dad Dev is proud of his son. For Onkar, he's hoping this success will lead to bigger and better bookings for future weddings and parties.
